Sometimes you have to let your mind go and float on a wave of mindless internet goodness.

Republican Candidate Warns of Girl Scouts Secret Feminist Agenda- Stupid people, in this case Republican candidate Hans Zeiger, talking. I don't understand how anyone could actually believe that someone would be "pro-abortion", as if it's just something fun to do on a weekend. Really I shouldn't be surprised, because people who spew hate speak are without fail as unintelligent as they are morally repugnant.

Some of My Favorite Blogs:
BuzzFeed-This site cracks me up!
I laughed and cried, sadly there are really people this ignorant and bigoted in the world, at The 10 Craziest Michelle Bachmann Quotes. I also loved the Titanic 2 Trailer, although it's slightly less funny when I admit to myself that I saw and bawled over the original five times in the theaters.

Jezebel
The subtitle of this site alone got my attention: "Celebrity, Sex, Fashion for Women"! One of my favorite things about this site is the great lists, with clips, for example: 67 Sensitive Men Shed Hollywood Tears and 10 Things you Might have Missed on TV This Week. I also found out on the Celebrity sub-page that Jaleel White, aka Steve Urkel from the favorite classic sit-com Family Matters, is being investigated for Domestic Violence; not cool Steve! But hey maybe White can claim that it was his alter ego Stefon Urkelle! I learned more in the Sex section: Your Sex Fantasies are Perhaps a Result of Your Dying Ovaries, I hope not. I found the Fashion section of Jezebel to be a little bit out of my league, very avant-garde, however I did check out Dress Code: What to Wear to a Reunion, not that I'm old enough to go to a reunion.

Gawker
This is one of those sites that I can't believe I didn't think of myself; I knew I should have majored in inventing, not in English! Gawker is your basic fun news site and I am a big fan of silly and interesting stories, like Clarence Thomas' Suicidal Epileptic Nephew Punched Tasered, sadly no video! I also appreciate the Stalker  option on this site, which allows people to give their celebrity sightings. Once upon a time, I hoped to be a celebrity stalker; I even followed Robin Williams around for several hours on a Lake Tahoe ski slope when I was in high school, unfortunately this dream I had to let die.

Time's 25 Best Blogs 2009
In preparation for the creation of this blog I did some research which included looking at a number of these so-called best blogs. Don't get me wrong, I am still holding to the firm belief that my blog is the best out there, however, I think it's important to stay informed and keep your surfing radar sharp. I am going to work my way through this list of blogs, including the list of the most overrated blogs, and give you my two sense.

#14: Slashfood http://www.slashfood.com/
I find this site extremely enjoyable and not just because I very much enjoy food. This site is a little bit of everything: News (from serious subjects like "Is Food Dye just a Colorful Killer?" to more frivolous affairs like reviews of Top Chef (love it!)), Chefs and Restaurants (including Skinny Chef, which has a recipe for potato chips that I will certainly try), Reviews (here they've got review from cookbooks to fast food places), Recipes (you can search by ingredients, method, drinks or entertaining, again I will definitely be trying some of these and will report back soon), and Features (drinks to ingredient spotlight). I like this site, because there is a lot going on, but it is all organized and all interesting and helpful. This site also has something else that is extremely important in a website of any kind, which is constant updates. My food obsessed self would have probably put this site higher up on the list. This site, as good blogs do, has links to other sites, for example Skinny Chef http://skinnychef.com/ which has so must try, and I will, recipes.
#24: Detentionslip http://www.detentionslip.org/
This site should certainly be up my alley, because it gives you the good, bad, and ugly of education news and it also has a catchy name! The ugly stories are really the meat of this site, for example: "Ex-Principal Charged with Having Child Porn", "High School Student Charged with Murder", and "Child Bitten by Fox at School". I also enjoyed a video that I'm not sure how to classify, perhaps informative ugly, Creationism in the Classroom that shows uninformed and prejudice high school students learning about the "truths of evolution", like: "How can an African American person, evolve from a white person? I mean, we're different skin." I know what you're thinking, how easy am I, but let's face it stupidity sells.
I thought that I being a disillusioned urban hell high school teacher had seen and heard it all, but apparently not. Detention Slip reminds me that maybe my job isn't quite so bad; at least there are no foxes at my school in Flatbush Brooklyn. This site also offers merchandise, an opportunity to give them tips (I will try to restrain myself here), and chances to advertise (again, I'll hold off for now). When it comes to updates this site is okay, but we're not talking daily. In my humble opinion Detention Slip definitely deserved to make this list.
#22: Confessions of a Pioneer Woman http://thepioneerwoman.com
horsie girl myself.
The Cooking and Tasty Kitchen sections (pretty much the same thing from what I can tell) certainly caught my eye, because I'm always interested in trying new recipes and there are some fantastic fresh recipes here. I will certainly be trying the key lime cupcakes, so stay tuned. Pioneer Woman is targeted at a certain audience and while I may not be apart of this particular group I still think this is a site worthy of the top 25. It is also updated very regularly; more cool points!
#1-Talking Points Memo-http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/
I am admittedly not my father's child when it comes to keeping up with serious news stories, unless of course we're talking about People or US Weekly. I have to say that I actually liked Talking Points Memo, an all news all the time site. Talking Points has the blow by blow on a huge range of current stories from entertainment to political. The site also offers visitors the chance to comment and give tips. The only problem I had with Talking Points was it's a bit frenetic and there is a lot of overlap amongst the sub-pages. I found this Fox News Interview with The Head of the New Black Panther Party-http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/ Talking Points also clued me into another enjoyable site: Digg.com- http://digg.com/ An interesting site where you can access a large variety of content from all over the web. Site visitors have the opportunity to vote or "digg" each piece. I especially dug This list of 10 Greatest Cinematic Predators-http://www.hollywood.com/feature/The_10_Greatest_Cinematic_Predators/699355 and this photo of a desperate Lost fan:

Thank you to my mother for alerting me to this great video that comments on the relationship between the sexes.

Songs by Riki "Garfunkel" Lindhome and Kate "Oates" Micucci- http://www.youtuberikilind#p/a/f/2/yMWTs0YT928
I cannot get enough of these ladies' fabulous sardonic fun! Garfunkel and Oates take seemingly mundane subjects and make them into hilarious fun poking. All of the videos I have seen are great, but my personal favorites are: "Pregnant Women are Smug", "Gay Boyfriend", "One Night Stand" and "It's Time to Get Laid". You can find all their videos and more information about them at their website-http://www.garfunkelandoates.com/music/clips/

I know it's a cheap thrill, but I do sometimes partake in funny little kid videos and this is one of the best! The kid's voice alone sends my over the edge!

This is another great kid video, mostly because the little girl pronounces "ass" "ask".

I love this little boy's accent and his dimples are super cute!

"I want to be paid less for doing the same job"; priceless!

Janis Joplin-Cry Baby-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjD4eWEUgMM&feature=related
To Love Somebody-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkGUt4QYc08&feature=related
Piece of My Heart-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7JVxE2SYxo&feature=related
Besides little kid laughs, I am also a big fan of videos of old school live music. Not to be a trader to my generation, but as far as I can tell most artists don't perform with the same passion that they use to. When I watch Janis perform, it feels as if she is ripping out her soul and handing it to me personally; I can't say I'm surprised that she died young (at 27, which hopefully NOT coincidentally is the age of your trusty Working Girl).
Patsy Cline-

Walkin' After Midnight-ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RICeErc0ni8&feature=related
My wonderful parents taught me to appreciate the vocal stylings of the first lady of country music, Miss Patsy Cline. My mother and I have even memorized a commentary that was a part of one of her greatest hits albums and I just fell in love with her country charm.
